Wild Horses

moderated - created 05/17/04
Wild horses have been a beautiful symbol of freedom in America. They can be found in areas in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, and Wyoming. In the early 1900's two million horses roamed wild in North America, but grasslands have been replaced with farms, ranches, roads, & citys. In 1971 Congress passed the Wild Free Roaming Horse & Burro Act to protect the horses on public land. Its amazing to watch them running through the hills, but little has been done to enforce the law to help save these animals.
